Friday, May 18, 2012 Michael Willmorth, PhD Senior Study Director, joined Clearwater Research in 1996. He received his master's degree from the Annenberg School for Communication and a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Pennsylvania. Michael has worked as a social scientist and faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, the University of Tulsa, and Albertson College of Idaho. He was previously employed in Boise as Research Associate at the Social Science Research Center at Boise State University. At Clearwater Research, Michael oversees research staff working on public sector projects. He conducts social program and public policy research, consumer and employee satisfaction surveys, and public opinion polls. Gayla Smutny, PhD Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) Study Director, joined Clearwater Research in 2001. She received a PhD in urban planning from the University of California, Irvine. Gayla has worked as a social scientist and faculty member at the University of California, Irvine and Florida State University. At Clearwater Research, she oversees research staff working on BRFSS and BRFSS-related projects. She specializes in public health surveys conducted according to standardized protocols. Liz Burlo Senior Research Analyst, joined Clearwater Research in 1999. She received her B.S. in Health Sciences from Boise State University. She has worked at Clearwater as an interviewer, monitor/mentor, assistant data collection supervisor, data collection supervisor, and data collection manager. She has extensive BRFSS data collection experience. Her areas of expertise are BRFSS and BRFSS-like data collection and production monitoring and scheduling. Liz manages several BRFSS, BRFSS-like, and general health studies. Vicky Barroso Research Analyst, joined Clearwater Research in 2005. She received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Boise State University. Vicky has worked as an interviewer, monitor, data collection supervisor, and research assistant at Clearwater Research. Vicky manages various BRFSS Landline, BRFSS Cell Phone, BRFSS Asthma, and PRAMS studies. Vicky also serves as Clearwater’s translator liaison and lead Spanish reviewer. Genna Atkinson Research Analyst, joined Clearwater Research in 2004. She received her bachelor’s degree from Boise State University. Genna has worked as an interviewer, monitor, data collection supervisor and data collection assistant manager at Clearwater Research. Genna manages various BRFSS, PRAMS, general health, and tobacco studies. Jake Martin Research Analyst and Project Manager, joined Clearwater Research in 2011. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Operations & Information Management from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he also completed a minor in International Business. Jake manages BRFSS Landline, BRFSS Cell Phone, BRFSS Asthma and special survey types at Clearwater Research. Aubree Miller Project Manager, joined Clearwater Research in 2010. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business and Public Administration from the University of North Dakota. She has previous experience at Clearwater as well as three years with a large retailer in management, logistics, and human resources. Aubree manages HEDIS®[1] CAHPS®[2] surveys.
